Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Papua New Guinea, IOM works on complex emergencies, providing humanitarian relief and building capacity of the Government.

IOM Development Fund conducts Atoll Project on Carteret Islands
IOM Emergency And Disaster Management Co-ordinator, Wonesai Sithole, who covers the whole of Papua New Guinea, leads an innovative programme on the Carteret Atoll. This programme is funded by the International Organisation for Migration Development Fund and encourages the islanders to be engaged in their own development priorities, as well as conducting potential migration management programmes.
